Surgical Planning
Tibial trauma fracture visualization in Virtual Reality environment with collaborating NHS orthopedic surgeon. The project utilises NHS patient data, to create 3D model of fracture anatomy X-Ray scan was used, DICOM image was processed and segmented to develop fragments of bone. 3D Max used for retopology and further refining polygons of object.
Virtual Reality environment was achieved by Unity, compatible with Oculus Quest 2 (proud member of the meta family ). Visualization of fracture in VR environment allows user to manipulate bone fragments and plan surgery with prompted list of implants that can be used to plan surgery after placing bone fragments in desirable position using hand gestures.
